Message from the Founder

Dear Friends, Thanks for your patience while Asheville Green Drinks undergoes a reboot. Note that an informal Asheville Green Drinks Meet-up is still happening every 3rd Wednesday at The BLOCK off biltmore. Given that we have changed our format, I want to thank all those individuals and organizations who help us make it past 600 programmed events including Ulla Reeves, Ty Hallock, Sage Linden, Jim Barton, Mountain True, United Nations Association of WNC, Sierra Club of Western North Carolina (WENOCA), Western North Carolina Green Building Association, Just Economics WNC, Transition Town Asheville, Dogwood Alliance and Lenoir-Rhyne University – Center for Graduate Studies of Asheville. I am also very grateful to all our past hosts including Bobo Gallery, Posana Restaurant, Tressas’, The Southern, Green Sage, Hi Wire Brewery, Twin Leaf Brewery, The Spot and our current host The BLOCK off biltmore. Finally, I also want to send out my deep appreciation to all the speakers, presenters and attendees for making Asheville Green Drinks one of the most unique of the 516 unique green drink events around the world. In the near future, expect a complete reboot of Asheville Green Drinks. Till then…

Yours in Sustainability,
Joseph Bernard Malki, Executive Director

Since 2004, Asheville Green Drinks has produced a weekly programmed event featuring socializing, speakers and panels focused on Ecological Wisdom, Sustainable Economies and Social Justice. On July 4th, 2016 the remaining founding producer of our event series took a break – celebrating over 600 free events an accomplishment shared by many volunteers and local organizations. Currently, Asheville Green Drinks is organized in “open networking format” as a Meetup on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 6pm at The BLOCK off biltmore. 39 S. Market Street, Asheville, NC (map).

We encourage folks from all points of view and backgrounds to join us in making new friends and joining forces to make Western North Carolina a wonderful place. NOTE On the 1st Wednesdays of the month we join forces with The Sierra Club of Western North Carolina at The Unitarian Church at 1 Edwin Place at 7PM. Otherwise, come by on the third Wednesday 6 pm– enjoy organic spirits, beer, vegan cuisine and the historic African American business district at The BLOCK off biltmore. 39 S. Market Street, Asheville, NC (map). Sign-up on our Meet-up page: https://www.meetup.com/Asheville-Green-Drinks-Meetup/ to get the latest scoop.
